A 67-year-old man from Highwood tragically lost his life in a devastating head-on collision in North Chicago. The Lake County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as George Santi, who succumbed to blunt force injuries sustained in the crash that occurred on Route 41 in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Details of the Incident
The fatal accident took place south of Brompton Avenue at approximately 2:14 a.m., with emergency services swiftly responding to reports of a two-vehicle collision. Upon arrival at the scene, first responders discovered two vehicles severely damaged from the impact, with multiple individuals requiring medical attention.
Santi, who was the sole occupant and driver of a Honda Pilot, tragically did not survive the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the other vehicle, a Honda Civic, were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries.
