The family, consisting of seven members, was travelling in a car driven by Sasitharan (36). As they were making their way from Vellore to Tiruvannamalai, tragedy struck. Sasitharan, who was reportedly sleep deprived, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide with a tree near Polur. The impact of the crash resulted in the immediate deaths of Ravikanth and Rasmitha, while Kalyani was rushed to the Polur Primary Health Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
