Rasiah is now facing a total of 36 charges related to human smuggling activities, with the RCMP revealing that approximately $1.4 million allegedly transited through accounts linked to him over a one-year period.

In a significant breakthrough, the RCMP announced the arrest of four individuals, including the alleged ringleader Rasiah, and issued warrants for four others involved in the smuggling ring. Among those arrested was Joel Portillo, a 38-year-old from Montreal, who is facing 25 charges related to conspiracy to organize, aid, and abet people entering Canada and the United States.
