Gilbert J. Strupp, known affectionately as Gib, was a beloved member of the Slinger community. He was born on April 2, 1936, in Slinger, Wisconsin, to the late Henry and Margaret Strupp. Gib grew up in Slinger and attended local schools, where he excelled both academically and athletically. After graduating from Slinger High School, Gib proudly served his country in the United States Army.

After his honorable discharge from the military, Gib returned to Slinger and married the love of his life, Mary, with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage. Together, they raised three children and built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Gib was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, always putting his family first and providing unwavering support and guidance.

In addition to his family, Gib was passionate about his community and his faith. He was an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Slinger, where he volunteered his time and talents to various church ministries. Gib’s faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him through both joyous and challenging times with grace and strength.

Gib had a successful career in the construction industry, where he earned a reputation for his hard work, integrity, and attention to detail. He took pride in his work and was known for his craftsmanship and dedication to excellence. Gib’s work ethic and commitment to quality were an inspiration to all who knew him.

In his free time, Gib enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors. He had a deep appreciation for nature and found solace in the beauty of the Wisconsin landscape. The Mass of Christian Burial for Gilbert J. Strupp will be held today, June 15, 2024, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Slinger, Wisconsin.
