Authorities in Ohio County are still searching for a missing 8-month-old child named Miya Tucker. The young girl, who has brown hair and green eyes, was last believed to be in the care of her parents, Cage C. Rudd and Tesla Tucker. The timeline of events leading up to Miya’s disappearance is troubling. On June 5, law enforcement officials were contacted about the missing child, who had not been seen by her family since the end of April. Attempts to contact Miya’s parents, Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd, were made in the week prior to their arrest. When the parents were located at a motel in Owensboro, Miya was not with them. Tucker and Rudd claimed they did not know where their daughter was, and it was later revealed that she had been removed from their residence by social workers and law enforcement on May 1 – a claim that was found to be false.
During the arrest of Tucker and Rudd, a large amount of drugs was discovered in their possession. Tucker was found with counterfeit Percocet pills containing fentanyl, as well as crystal methamphetamine. Rudd, who was serving a supervised diversion for drug charges, was also found with marijuana in his possession. Miya’s grandfather, Ricky Smith, was also present at the motel and was arrested for drug-related charges as well.
Additional charges were filed against Tucker, Rudd, and Smith on June 6, including child abuse, trafficking of controlled substances, and engaging in organized crime. Miya’s grandmother, Billie J. Smith, was arrested on June 9 for assault after a search/welfare check for Miya revealed an active warrant for her arrest.
The individuals involved in this case have a history of drug-related charges and criminal activity. Their court appearances have been scheduled for the coming days, with various charges pending against them. The search for Miya continues, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
