Recovery of Firearm After Traffic Stop

In a separate incident on the same day, Boston Police reported the recovery of a firearm after suspects fled a traffic stop and crashed their vehicle in Mattapan. The suspects were initially observed by police abruptly pulling over into a no parking zone without using turn signals in an Infiniti sedan on Talbot Ave.

Upon pulling the car over for a traffic stop, officers noticed three men inside the vehicle. However, they encountered resistance from the suspects, with one passenger exiting the car to confront and block the officers. The driver also became confrontational, leading to a struggle as the suspects attempted to drive off with an officer partially inside the vehicle.

Despite their efforts to flee, the suspects crashed the vehicle into a parked car a short distance away. While the police chased the suspects, they ultimately lost sight of them. However, during a search of the area, officers discovered a Smith & Wesson 9 Compact firearm with ammunition.
