An elderly man has been identified as the victim of a tragic house explosion that occurred on Tuesday night in unincorporated Lake Zurich. Timothy Toczylowski, aged 77, was the resident of the destroyed home. The Lake County Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity on Friday evening, June 7, 2024, after conducting a dental examination and comparing it with the deceased’s dental records.

An autopsy conducted at the Lake County Coroner’s Office revealed that Toczylowski had injuries consistent with inhalation of products of combustion.
