In a heart-wrenching turn of events, a 14-year-old boy has been accused of fatally shooting a Houston Farmers Market employee in the early hours of Thursday morning. The victim, 36-year-old Damon Price, tragically lost his life while trying to thwart the young suspect’s alleged attempt to steal a golf cart.

Details of the Incident
The shooting took place just before 4:30 a.m. on Airline Drive in the Greater Heights area. Surveillance footage captured two suspects, their hoods pulled up, as they approached the building where Price was on duty. Price’s role at the Farmers Market was to check the delivery trucks arriving at the premises.
According to the Houston Police Department, Price confronted the suspects after noticing their suspicious activity. A scuffle ensued between Price and the suspects, leading to one of them pulling out a gun and firing multiple shots at Price, who was left lying on the ground in the parking lot.

Following the incident, one of the suspects was apprehended on Friday and charged with capital murder. However, what shocked the community even more was the revelation that the 14-year-old suspect was actually turned in to the police by his own mother.
On Saturday, ABC13 sources reported that the suspect’s mother took him to the police station downtown to surrender himself. This act of accountability by the suspect’s family has left many questioning the circumstances that led to such a tragic outcome.
