Phillip was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He was known for his kind heart, quick wit, and unwavering dedication to his family. He was a man of great integrity, always putting others before himself and going out of his way to help those in need.

In addition to his wife, Karen, Phillip is survived by his three sons, Mark, David, and Steven. Each son inherited their father’s strong work ethic and sense of compassion, carrying on his legacy in their own lives. Phillip’s brother, John, and sister, Elizabeth, also mourn his loss and will cherish the memories they shared together.

Phillip was a pillar of strength in his community, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word to those around him. He was a devoted member of Greenville Fellowship, where he found solace in his faith and formed lasting friendships with his fellow parishioners. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In his free time, Phillip enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. He had a talent for creating beautiful furniture and cherished the moments he spent tending to his garden. His grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he loved nothing more than watching them grow and thrive.

Phillip’s passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A memorial service to celebrate Phillip’s life will be held at Greenville Fellowship on June 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Marion Community Foundation in Phillip’s honor.

Phillip Franklin Nelson will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the lives of those he loved. May he rest in peace.
