In a tragic incident that shook the community of Sumter County, Florida, a 16-year-old suspect was taken into custody after being accused of killing a teen and injuring an adult during a sleepover near Wildwood.

**The Incident**
Deputies from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office responded to a stabbing call at 6611 County Road 148 late on Saturday night. Upon arrival, they found two victims – one adult and one teen – who had been stabbed. The incident took place during a sleepover that the teen victim was hosting.
**The Attack**
The suspect, who was known to the victim, arrived unannounced and forced his way into the home by banging on the door. Once inside, the suspect proceeded to stab the victim and threatened another person present at the home. When the adult victim intervened, they were also stabbed by the suspect.

**The Victims**
Both victims received immediate medical attention from emergency services at the scene before being airlifted to local hospitals for further treatment. Tragically, the 14-year-old victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at 1:19 a.m. The adult victim remains hospitalized, receiving care for the wounds inflicted during the attack.
**The Arrest**
After conducting a thorough investigation, detectives identified the 16-year-old suspect, who had fled on foot. With the assistance of the sheriff’s office helicopter, the suspect was apprehended shortly thereafter. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with premeditated first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
**Ongoing Investigation**
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that both the suspect and the deceased victim had withdrawn from Sumter County Schools and were being homeschooled. The investigation into the incident is still active and ongoing, with authorities considering additional charges against the suspect as more details come to light.
