The Suspect

Michael McNeely, a 42-year-old resident of Haddon Township, has been charged with arson for allegedly setting fire to a vehicle at a Haddonfield residence last October. The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office has also linked him to other instances of criminal mischief in the area.

The Incident

Haddonfield police responded to a call for a vehicle fire on the 1000 block of Concord Circle around 1:15 a.m. on Oct. 21. Surveillance footage from the address captured McNeely pouring gasoline onto the vehicle and igniting the flames. He was apprehended in Haddonfield on May 17 and is currently held at the Camden County Correctional Facility awaiting a court appearance.

Past Crimes

Prior to the recent arson charge, officers had been called to the same residence for vehicle fires in October 2017 and June 2021. Investigations into these incidents are ongoing. Additionally, in June 2019, authorities responded to a report of a concrete block being thrown through a window at the residence, leading to a criminal mischief charge against McNeely.

In a span from 2019 to 2023, McNeely is suspected of engaging in stalking behaviour in both Haddonfield and Medford. Furthermore, he faces charges of criminal mischief and harassment related to vandalism involving spray paint on a bench in the unit block of High Point Drive.
