Dhar, Madhya Pradesh: Man and Accomplices Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Brutal Murder
In a harrowing turn of events, a man named Ishwar Pataliya and his two accomplices, Mukesh Mandav and Prithviraj, have been handed down life imprisonment for the brutal murder of Ishwar’s own daughter. The shocking crime took place on February 6, 2020, in the quiet town of Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, sending shockwaves through the community.

Discovery of the Crime
The heinous act came to light when the Mandwa police station in-charge received a report of a girl’s body found under the Rangaon Satghata culvert, her face crushed beyond recognition. The victim, identified as Roshni, a young girl aged 15-16 years, was still in her school uniform, adding to the tragic nature of the crime.
Investigation and Identification
A case was registered under section 302 of the IPC, and through meticulous investigation, Roshni was identified by her uncle Bhagwan and sister Archana. They recognised her by the distinct black anklet, amulet, and a golden watch she wore. Key witness Mevsingh, a cleaner at Gajanand Petrol Pump Bagri Phat, reported seeing a white car at the petrol pump on the day of the murder, hearing cries for help that went unheeded until the discovery of Roshni’s body the following day.
Details of the Crime
During the investigation, shocking details emerged as Prithviraj confessed to borrowing a car from his friend Rishabh and, along with Mukesh, taking Roshni and another girl named Pinky on a drive. After dropping Pinky off, they took Roshni to a secluded area where Mukesh forced pesticide into her mouth, causing her to faint. Ishwar, Roshni’s own father, was contacted by Mukesh but failed to intervene, providing money for fuel instead. Tragically, Prithviraj and Mukesh proceeded to brutally murder Roshni by slitting her throat and mutilating her face with stones in a bid to conceal her identity.
Justice Served
The court, presided over by the additional session court class first, found all three men guilty of the heinous crime and sentenced them to life imprisonment. TC Billore, the deputy director (prosecution) and special public prosecutor, expressed satisfaction at the verdict, bringing a semblance of closure to the tragic case that shook the town of Dhar.
