The Alleged Gangster and the Charges
A 23-year-old alleged gangster, Tyrese Taylor, also known as ‘Reddy’, has been slapped with a slew of charges by the police. These charges include murder, shooting, assault, and arson, among others. Taylor, a resident of Dover Avenue in Gregory Park, Portmore, St Catherine, is said to be associated with the notorious ‘Chargie Badness Gang’.

The Violent Incidents
The charges against Taylor stem from violent incidents that took place in 2021 and 2023. In one such incident on August 9, 2021, Taylor and his gang members reportedly opened fire at a restaurant, fatally shooting 39-year-old Omar Ricketts. Months later, on December 18, 2021, Taylor and his accomplices allegedly carried out a gruesome attack where they decapitated a man with a machete in Gregory Park.
The Tragic Losses
During another violent episode in 2023, Taylor and his gang members shot and killed a 28-year-old taxi operator, Raneel Haughton, before setting several homes on fire. The blaze resulted in the death of 72-year-old Niomi Gocul, who succumbed to severe burns sustained during the incident. The community of Gregory Park was left reeling from these senseless acts of violence.
The Arrest and Charges
Taylor was apprehended by law enforcement during an operation in the parish. Following investigations into the various heinous crimes, he was charged with multiple offences, including murder, assault, aiding and abetting, and possession of prohibited weapons. His court date is currently being finalized as the police continue their search for other suspects involved in the incidents.
The Community’s Response
The residents of Gregory Park have been left in shock and disbelief at the brutality of the crimes allegedly committed by Taylor and his gang. The senseless loss of life and destruction wrought upon the community has left many in mourning. Law enforcement authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward and assist in bringing all those responsible to justice.
