In a heartbreaking turn of events, a young firefighter lost his life in Khagrachhari early today while carrying out his duty to clear uprooted trees following Cyclone Remal. The deceased, identified as 21-year-old Rasel Hossain, was a dedicated member of the district’s fire service.

The tragic incident took place in the Alutila area under Matiranga upazila around 10:00 pm yesterday. The trees had been uprooted during the cyclone, and the firefighters were working diligently to remove them. However, tragedy struck when electricity supply suddenly resumed in the area.
