Details of the Incident
The incident took place on a Saturday evening between 5pm and 5.05pm as the children were making their way back to their new house. The car, travelling at a high speed, hit the children, resulting in Kushmita and her cousin Vedant sustaining serious injuries. Kushmita tragically succumbed to her injuries at Nimhans around 7.15pm, while Vedant is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Goraguntepalya.
Family’s Devastation
The father of the young girl, Prasanna Kumar, spoke of the harrowing experience, recounting how he witnessed the accident unfold. He explained that he was just behind the children, closing the gate to their old house, when the car veered off course and struck his daughter and nephew.
