In a tragic turn of events, Libby Spangler, a 35-year-old resident of the 700 block of Stonewood Road, Springettsbury Township, has been identified as the driver involved in a fatal crash at the intersection of Stonewood and Trowbridge roads. According to a recent update from the York County Coroner’s office on May 28, Libby was the driver who crashed into a utility pole at the intersection. Despite not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, she was found alive and conscious when authorities arrived at the scene at 3:39 a.m. on May 24. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries at Wellspan York Hospital at 4:56 a.m.

Deputy Coroner Molly York was called to the hospital to certify Libby’s death, attributing it to “multiple blunt force injuries due to a single-vehicle crash.” The incident has been ruled as an accident, and no autopsy will be conducted, although routine toxicology tests were performed.
