At approximately 4 PM, Pan Thong police received a report of a collision between a train and a pickup truck at a railway crossing. Upon reaching the scene, authorities found a bronze-gray Isuzu D-Max pickup truck overturned on the railway tracks, with its wheels pointing towards the sky. The vehicle sustained significant damage from the impact.

Located about 800 meters away was a gray-red SRT freight train, with minor scratches on its front end. Inside the pickup truck, two Thai women, identified as Ms. Orathai, 45, and Ms. Rungthip, 54, were found injured. Both women suffered from neck pain and chest tightness and were promptly treated by rescue workers before being taken to Pan Thong Hospital for further medical attention.

According to the train driver, Mr. Panan, 39, the train was en route from Lad Krabang to Laem Chabang when the collision occurred. He mentioned that he had noticed another train passing in the opposite direction from Laem Chabang to Bangkok. Once the passing train cleared the crossing, Mr. Panan observed the pickup truck attempting to cross the tracks despite the lowered crossing gates. Despite sounding the train’s horn as a warning, the pickup truck failed to stop in time, leading to the collision.

An eyewitness, Mr. Somkid, 62, who was present near the tracks, recounted seeing the pickup truck disregard the crossing gates and collide with the train. He also heard the train’s warning horn blaring before the impact.
