In a devastating turn of events, three individuals, including a woman, tragically lost their lives due to suspected food poisoning in Rajasthan’s Udaipur district. The incident took place in Sawan Kyara village, where a group of around 80 people had gathered for a programme on Monday night.

Shortly after consuming dinner at the event, several attendees began experiencing symptoms of vomiting and nausea. The affected individuals were quickly rushed to nearby hospitals for medical assistance. Tragically, a woman and two others succumbed to the severe effects of the suspected food poisoning, leaving the community in shock and mourning. The deceased have been identified as Babu Gamar (30), Masru Gamar (28), and Amiya Pargi (35).
Medical Officials Respond
Kotra Block Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Shankarlal Chavan, confirmed that a total of 36 individuals are currently undergoing treatment in various medical facilities across the district. Dr. Chavan stated that food samples from the event have been collected and sent for testing to determine the exact cause of the tragic incident. The preliminary assessment points towards food poisoning as the suspected reason for the fatalities.

Kotra Police Station SHO Ashok Kumar highlighted the swift response of the medical teams in attending to the affected individuals. Currently, 11 people are receiving treatment at the primary health center in Kotra, while 25 others have been transferred to different hospitals for specialized care.
