The tragic crash took place shortly before 4 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, driven by a 53-year-old man from White City, crossed the center line on Kelso Road and collided head-on with a northbound 2024 Toyota Rav4.
The driver of the Rav4, identified as Troy Sabean, a 33-year-old man from St. Paul, Minnesota, was accompanied by two passengers, Ann Porter, 69, from Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and Emma Porter, 33, from Roseville, Minnesota. All three individuals tragically lost their lives at the scene of the crash. Two other occupants of the Rav4 sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a hospital in Topeka for treatment.

The driver of the pickup truck was also injured in the collision and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Additionally, a 51-year-old woman from White City, who was a passenger in the pickup, was in critical condition and was transported to KU Medical Center for further medical attention.
