Javid Khan and Asim Khan, residents of Maneri Bala and Panjpir village respectively, shared their ordeal of being incessantly bitten by mosquitoes throughout the night. The lack of power exacerbated the situation, especially for the elderly and children in the affected areas.

An employee at the grid station disclosed that a double circuit of the 132KV line had malfunctioned, leading to the suspension of electricity supply to various regions. The overloading of the remaining circuit resulted in forced load-shedding, aggravating the already dire situation for residents.

The impacted areas included Maneri, Karnal Sher Khan Kallay, Salim Khan, Gadoon Amazai, some colonies of Tarbela Dam, as well as localities in Topi, Swabi, and Razaar tehsils. While the grid station staff initiated the forced outage, officials clarified that it was not a directive from the Peshawar Electric Supply Company.

Fortunately, a technical team arrived at the grid station on Sunday morning to rectify the fault and restore power supply to the affected areas, bringing relief to the beleaguered residents.
