Victims identified
The victims were identified as hotel owner Lokman Hossain and his employee Mokchedur Rahman, according to reports from UNB. The devastating collapse took place in the vicinity of Rupatali Lily Petrol Pump, with the roof giving way around 4:30 am.
Details of the Incident
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barisal Kotwali Model Police Station, Arichul Haque, provided further details stating that the collapse occurred during heavy rain and strong winds. The unfortunate individuals were caught off guard while they were asleep, leading to the tragic outcome.
Injured Individual Admitted to Hospital
One individual, identified as Shakib, sustained serious injuries in the incident and was promptly admitted to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for urgent medical attention. The gravity of the situation was apparent as doctors worked tirelessly to stabilise the injured party.
