A Potential Serial Killer Apprehended in Bengaluru

The Bengaluru police have thwarted potential serial killings with the arrest of a 26-year-old man identified as Girish M. The accused, a resident of Vasanthpura in south Bengaluru, has allegedly bludgeoned two men sleeping on footpaths to death within a span of seven days.

Gruesome Discoveries Unveiled

The gruesome incidents unfolded on May 13 and May 19 when the bodies of two young men were found brutally stoned to death. The first victim, whose identity remains unknown, bore tattoos on his right hand with the letters ‘VB’ and ‘NTR’. He was killed for refusing to give cigarettes to Girish, according to police investigations. The second victim, identified as Suresh, 26, hailing from Kaverinagar in Banashankari, was killed by Girish for denying him money to purchase alcohol.

A Chilling Confession

After being apprehended by the Banashankari police, Girish confessed to the heinous crimes. Police officials revealed that Girish exhibited no remorse for his actions and showed a callous disregard for human life. They expressed grave concern, stating that had Girish not been caught, he would have continued his killing spree.

A Troubled Past

Girish’s troubled past came to light during the investigation. It was disclosed that his father had separated from his mother and remarried, selling off their property in Banashankari before relocating to Kerala. Girish, an alcohol addict, had a history of criminal activities, including cases of sexual harassment and robbery. After serving a 10-month sentence in 2020, he worked odd jobs as a helper in a hotel and a construction labourer.

The Banashankari police made a significant breakthrough in the case when they identified Girish through CCTV footage obtained from a camera near K R Road. Subsequent analysis of over 30 CCTV cameras led to Girish’s capture. Despite his criminal record, Girish managed to evade the law until now.
