Former Mill Worker Arrested for Raping Tribal College Students
In a disturbing turn of events in Madhya Pradesh, a former mill worker has been taken into custody for the heinous crime of raping a minimum of seven tribal college students. The accused, identified as Brajesh Kushwaha, employed a voice-morphing app to deceive his victims. Despite being illiterate, Kushwaha utilized technology in a sinister manner to carry out a series of assaults.

Deceptive Modus Operandi
Under the guise of a female college teacher, Kushwaha would reach out to students hailing from the Sidhi district, offering assistance in securing scholarships. Using a fabricated female voice, he would instruct the students to meet him in isolated locations. Subsequently, a man on a motorcycle would be dispatched to transport them to Kushwaha’s residence. Upon arrival, Kushwaha, donning a helmet to conceal his identity, would escort the students to a nearby forest where the assaults took place.
Distinctive Clue Leads to Arrest
The survivors recounted that the sole distinguishing feature of their assailant was his consistent use of gloves. This crucial detail enabled law enforcement to identify Kushwaha, who had previously suffered burn injuries while working at a rolling mill in Maharashtra. Inspector General of Police Mahendra Sikarwar disclosed, “A woman came forward and reported being a victim of rape after being lured to a desolate area under the guise of scholarship assistance. Following a thorough investigation, we apprehended Brajesh Kushwaha, who confessed to altering his voice using a cellphone app.”
Swift Action and Demolition of Residence
Kushwaha was apprehended on a Saturday, alongside three alleged accomplices. The authorities wasted no time in demolishing his house in the Sidhi district using heavy machinery. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has instructed the formation of a dedicated nine-member special investigation team to delve deeper into the case and ascertain whether additional victims were targeted by Kushwaha. Notably, the team will be spearheaded by a female deputy superintendent of police.

The cyber cell has issued a cautionary advisory alerting the public to the potential misuse of voice-altering applications.
