Gold Chain Snatchers Apprehended After Fracturing Legs
Jaipur: The Vidhyadhar Nagar police, in collaboration with the Crime Special Team (CST), successfully apprehended two individuals involved in gold chain snatching on Saturday. The dramatic arrests unfolded after a nearly 2 km chase, during which both suspects met with an unfortunate accident, resulting in fractures to their legs.

Following a spate of chain snatching incidents over the past two months in the Jaipur North area, a specialized team, including CST members, was deployed to tackle the escalating issue. “After meticulously analysing over 50 CCTV footage, we were able to identify two notorious chain snatchers. When we attempted to intercept them, they fled, only to meet their downfall in a hilly area,” revealed a Vidhyadhar Nagar police officer.
The apprehended suspects have been identified as Qasim (24) and Rajkumar alias Raju (25), both of whom have a history of criminal activities. “Rajkumar has a staggering 17 cases registered against him in Jaipur city, while Qasim has been involved in cases of arms act violations at Kotwali police station,” added the officer.
Paraded Through the Crime Scenes
To reconstruct the crime scenes and aid in the investigation process, the captured suspects were paraded for nearly 3 km in Vidhyadhar Nagar. “They were escorted to the exact locations where they had snatched gold chains from unsuspecting women, in an effort to recreate and map out the criminal activities,” explained the officer.
