Tragic Fire Claims Three Lives in East Delhi

Victims of the Tragic Incident
The victims of the fire have been identified as 66-year-old Promila Shad, 18-year-old Keshav Sharma, and 39-year-old Anju Sharma. Promila Shad’s charred body was discovered on the first floor of the building, while Keshav and Anju were rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. Their untimely demise has left their loved ones shattered and grieving.

In the wake of the blaze, nine individuals were successfully rescued from the building, thanks to the swift action of the Delhi Fire Services (DFS). Chief Atul Garg revealed that the firefighters received the distress call at 2:35 a.m. and managed to extinguish the flames by 7:20 a.m. The fire, believed to have originated from two-wheelers parked in the building’s parking area, quickly spread and engulfed the entire structure. Tragically, fourteen vehicles and two bicycles were completely destroyed in the inferno.

The authorities have taken swift action against the owner of the building, booking them under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including negligent conduct with respect to fire, causing death by negligence, and endangering the safety of others.
