In a heart-wrenching turn of events, twelve lives were tragically lost in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, as a gravel-loaded dumper truck overturned on a bus carrying pilgrims en route to the revered Purnagiri temple in Uttarakhand. The incident, which occurred on Saturday night, left six women and three children among the deceased, while nine others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Government Medical College for treatment.

Details of the Incident
The ill-fated bus, carrying a total of 59 passengers from Sitapur, had made a stop at a roadside eatery in Hajiyapur village under the Khutar police station area. As some of the devotees disembarked for dinner, tragedy struck when the dumper truck lost control, overturning and unloading its contents onto the waiting pilgrims inside the bus. The victims, all residents of Kamlapur in Sitapur district, had hired the bus for their journey to the temple, which is located approximately 180 kilometers away.
