Tragic Accidents on Thatta-Hyderabad Highway Claim Nine Lives
Nine passengers met a tragic end while travelling on the Thatta-Hyderabad section of the National Highway, as three separate accidents unfolded on a fateful Saturday morning. The incidents left a trail of devastation, with six individuals losing their lives in a head-on collision near the hilly town of Jherruck.

The victims, all labourers from Manik Behrani village, were on their way to work in Kotri SITE area when their Suzuki pickup collided with a dumper at Hameed Farm. The impact of the crash was fatal, claiming the lives of Riaz Behrani, Jalal Behrani, Irfan Behrani, Soomar Behrani, Qurban Behrani, and Waqar Behrani. Several others sustained injuries, with some in critical condition.
Injuries and Losses
Among the injured were Hassan, Munawar, Arbab, Irfan, Maqbool, Nouman, Wajid, Mushtaq, Asif, and Gulsher, who received immediate medical attention at a local hospital in Jherruck. The critically wounded were rushed to Hyderabad for urgent treatment, highlighting the severity of the situation.
In a separate incident, a pickup and a high-roof vehicle carrying picnickers to Keenjhar Lake collided near Ali Bahar, resulting in the tragic death of Arshad Ali Bangali and injuries to four other occupants. The group was en route to enjoy a leisurely day by the lake when the unforeseen accident occurred.
Another Collision
The series of unfortunate events continued with a Vigo vehicle crashing into the back of a pickup, causing injuries to Javed Jakhro, Khamiso Jakhro, and Ghulam Sarwar Khaskheli. Despite efforts to provide medical assistance, Ghulam Sarwar succumbed to his injuries at Makli Civil Hospital, adding to the overall toll of the day’s tragedies.
