The state of Haryana saw a considerable voter turnout of 31% by 12.56 pm on Saturday as polling commenced for the 10 Lok Sabha constituencies. The atmosphere was bustling with activity as citizens exercised their democratic rights by casting their votes.

**Bypoll for Karnal Assembly Seat**

In addition to the Lok Sabha elections, voting was also in progress for the bypoll to the Karnal assembly seat. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was among the candidates contesting in this election. The bypoll was necessitated by the resignation of his predecessor, Manohar Lal Khattar.

Sadly, in Sonepat’s Sersa Jati village, a 51-year-old clerk named Virender passed away due to a heart attack while on election duty. He was from Gangana village in the district and was stationed at the Pugthala government school. The loss of Virender was deeply felt by his colleagues and the community.

**Allegations of Intimidation in Rohtak**

In Rohtak, there were reports of booth workers from the Congress party raising concerns about BJP leader and former minister Manish Grover allegedly gaining unauthorized access to booth number 118 near ITI in Rohtak city. The workers claimed that Grover attempted to intimidate voters. A formal complaint regarding this incident has been lodged with the relevant authorities.

**Peaceful Polling Across the State**

Despite these isolated incidents, election commission officials confirmed that polling across the state remained largely peaceful. No major untoward events were reported from any other location, ensuring a smooth voting process for the residents of Haryana.

**Statistics and Voter Information**

Haryana boasts a significant voter base, with a total of 2,00,76,768 (two crore) registered voters. This includes 94,23,956 (94 lakh) women and 467 individuals from the transgender community. Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Agarwal provided these details ahead of the polling day.

**Turnout Data Across Constituencies**

According to Election Commission data, the Bhiwani-Mahendragarh constituency recorded the highest turnout in the initial hours of polling at 10.26%, while Faridabad registered the lowest at 5.46%. Other constituencies like Ambala, Gurugram, Hisar, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Rohtak, Sirsa, and Sonipat also witnessed varying levels of voter participation.

**Previous Election Results and Candidate Details**

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP secured a clean sweep in Haryana, clinching victory in all 10 seats. This year, a total of 223 candidates are in the fray, including prominent figures like Khattar, two Union ministers, and Congress stalwart Kumari Selja. The candidate pool comprises 207 men and 16 women vying for electoral success.

The voting process is set to continue until 6 pm, allowing all eligible voters in Haryana to cast their ballots and contribute to shaping the future of the state and the nation.
