In a dramatic turn of events, a 22-year-old woman was rescued by the police after being abducted by her distant relative along with three other men. The incident took place in the city, where the victim, who worked at a hospital near Velachery, was forcefully taken from her way to work.

Background of the Victim
The victim, whose identity has been kept confidential, had a past relationship with one of the abductors, her cousin S.Sabapathy. However, she had ended the relationship, leading to him harassing her and pressuring her to marry him against her will.
The Abduction
On the fateful day, the victim was on her usual route to work when she was ambushed by Sabapathy and his three associates. They forcibly pushed her into a car, gagged her, and began their journey towards their native town of Karaikudi with the intention of conducting a forced marriage.
Rescue Operation
Thankfully, passersby who witnessed the abduction quickly alerted the victim’s friends, who in turn informed the Velachery police. The Acharapakkam police sprang into action and intercepted the car at Thozhipedu toll plaza in Chengalpattu district, where they arrested the four men and rescued the woman from their clutches.
Arrested Suspects
The four suspects, identified as S. Sabapathy, P. Hariharan, Ajay alias Sabarinathan, and V. Rajesh, were all taken into custody. The case has been transferred to the Velachery police for further investigation into the abduction and attempted forced marriage.
