Three Accused Charged in Chhattisgarh CPI (Maoist) Abduction and Murder Case

In a significant development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has charged three accused in the Chhattisgarh CPI (Maoist) abduction and murder case. The case involves the brutal killing of three civilians who were labelled as police informers by the banned terrorist outfit.

Accused identified and Charges Filed

The accused individuals have been identified as Sannu Ram Atlami, also known as Sunil, Suresh Katlami, also known as Kachlami, and Sanker Nureti, also known as Shanker. The NIA has filed charges against them under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Involvement in Criminal Conspiracy

All three accused are members of the CPI (Maoist) and were found to be involved in a criminal conspiracy related to the abduction of six civilians from the village of Morkhnadi in District Kanker, Chhattisgarh. Tragically, three of the abducted individuals were later killed after being falsely branded as police informants at a self-styled ‘Jan Adalat,’ which is a form of parallel judiciary conducted by CPI (Maoist) cadres and their associates in the Modemarka Forest on November 1, 2023.

NIA Investigation and Crackdown

The NIA began its investigation into the case (RC – 12/2024/NIA/RPR) in February 2024. The agency has been working diligently to crack down on the activities, cadres, and workers of the proscribed terror organisation to thwart their anti-India agenda.

Accused’s Involvement in Promoting Terror Agenda

The trio charged today were actively involved in the conspiracy to abduct and kill three innocent civilians. They were also involved in promoting and propagating the terror agenda of the CPI (Maoist) operating in the area through various fronts, including the Krantikari Kishan Committee, Mahila Mukti Manch, Revolutionary People’s Council (RPC), and Jantana Sarkar. It is important to note that Jantana Sarkar has been declared an unlawful organization of the CPI (Maoist) by the Chhattisgarh Government.
