Tragic Road Accidents Claim Eight Lives in Karnataka
In a devastating turn of events, two separate road accidents in Karnataka have left eight people dead and 18 others injured. The incidents occurred in Ranebennur of Haveri district and Banakal in Mudigere taluk of Chikkamagaluru district.

Under-Bridge Tragedy in Ranebennur
Late on Thursday night, a multiutility vehicle travelling from Haveri to Tirupati met with a tragic accident under the under-bridge on NH-48 in Ranebennur. The vehicle flipped over, claiming the lives of four passengers on the spot. The deceased have been identified as Suresh Jaadi (45), Ishwarya Barki (22), Pavithra Samagondi (28), and Chethana Samagondi (7). Additionally, six other passengers sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals in the area.
Collision in Banakal Claims Four Lives
In another heart-wrenching incident, a collision between a lorry and a van on national highway at Banakal resulted in the deaths of four family members from Chitradurga district. The deceased, identified as Hampaiah (65), Prema (58), Manjaiah (60), and Prabhakar (45) were returning to Chitradurga after a visit to Dharmasthala. The family was travelling in a car and a van, with a total of nine passengers in the van and seven in the car.
Tragic Outcome of the Collision
The collision between the lorry and the van, followed by the car hitting the van from behind, led to the tragic demise of three passengers in the van at the scene of the accident. Another passenger succumbed to injuries while being transported to the hospital. Three occupants of the car sustained severe injuries and have been transferred to a hospital in Mangaluru for further medical care.
The authorities, including Superintendent of Police Anshukumar, have visited the accident sites to assess the situation and provide necessary assistance to the victims and their families.
