Tragic Incident in Delhi Leaves Two Dead Due to Suffocation
In a heartbreaking turn of events, two men lost their lives in Delhi while cleaning a septic tank. The incident took place in the Jasola area of the city, where the two individuals were helping clean a septic tank belonging to a man named Iqbal.

Details of the Incident
According to reports, the men were using a tractor tank/machine to clean the septic tank when they encountered a problem with the valve. In an attempt to fix it, they entered the tank and unfortunately, they fell unconscious due to suffocation.
The police were alerted to the situation at 1.07 pm and immediately dispatched a fire tender team to the scene. The two men were rescued from the tank and rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, they were pronounced dead upon arrival.
Victims identified
One of the deceased has been identified as Rajprakash Singh, a 60-year-old resident of Delhi’s Molband Extension. The identity of the second victim is yet to be confirmed.
Legal Ramifications
Under the Manual Scavenging Act, it is illegal to clean septic tanks without proper safety gear. The law also mandates that the families of victims are entitled to compensation, government jobs for one family member, and rehabilitation support.
