The accident took place at Devaramane Cross when a family of 16 from Holalkere taluk in Chitradurga district was returning from a visit to Dharmasthala in Dakshina Kannada district. The first passenger vehicle had a head-on collision with the truck, while the second vehicle collided with the first one.
