The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of West Bengal Police has made a breakthrough in the case of the mysterious death of Bangladeshi Member of Parliament Anwarul Azim Anar. Anar was last seen at a rented accommodation in New Town near Kolkata on Wednesday before he went missing.

Suspect Arrested in Gruesome Murder

The CID has arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of Anwarul Azim Anar. The suspect, identified as Jihad Hawladar, a 24-year-old butcher from Bangladesh, was allegedly hired by the victim’s friend, Akhtaruzzaman, a US citizen, to carry out the gruesome murder.

Sources close to the investigation revealed that Hawladar was brought to Kolkata two months before the murder by Akhtaruzzaman, who is believed to be the mastermind behind the planned killing.

Details of the Horrific Murder

During interrogation, Hawladar confessed to police that on Akhtaruzzaman’s orders, he and four other individuals smothered Anwarul Azim Anar to death in the flat. They then proceeded to skin his body, remove all flesh, and mince it to destroy the victim’s identity. The remains were packed in polybags, bones were cut into pieces, and the body parts were disposed of at various locations in Kolkata.

Investigation and Legal Proceedings

The arrested suspect is set to appear in court where police will seek his remand to verify his testimony and recover the missing body parts. The initial probe suggests that Anar’s close friend, a US citizen, paid a substantial sum of money to have him killed. The friend owns a flat in Kolkata and is currently believed to be in the US.
