A man hailing from Los Angeles, identified as Akop Galadzhyan, has been apprehended by authorities for his alleged involvement in a string of thefts amounting to over $100,000 from various Target stores scattered across Southern California. The arrest was made by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, shedding light on a larger organized retail theft operation targeting businesses in the Southland area.

The 50-year-old suspect was caught red-handed on May 21 as he attempted to leave a Thousand Oaks store with merchandise valued at over $1,000. The items seized from Galadzhyan included an assortment of high-end goods such as ribeye steaks, bottles of Veuve Clicquot champagne and Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon, packs of Red Bull, Starbucks coffee, Fiji water, Topo Chico, along with clothing items and more.

Photographs from the arrest scene depicted a significant haul of stolen items, painting a vivid picture of the extent of the alleged theft spree. Subsequent investigations revealed a trail of evidence linking Galadzhyan to at least twelve other retail theft incidents in Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, and Simi Valley.

Authorities are actively working to identify and locate additional suspects believed to be associated with Galadzhyan and the series of thefts that have plagued Target stores throughout the region. Galadzhyan was promptly arrested and booked into the Sheriff’s Pre-Trial Detention Facility, where he remains in custody in lieu of $100,000 bail. His arraignment hearing is scheduled to take place on May 23 at the Ventura County Superior Court.
