In a devastating turn of events, a property dispute in Bannu has resulted in the loss of four lives, including three brothers, and left a woman injured. The incident took place in the bustling Gardanali Street within the city police station’s jurisdiction.

The victims have been identified as Usman, Imran, and Suleman, sons of Mumtaz from Peshawar, and Ejaz, son of Nekza Ali Khan from Bannu. The injured woman, Shazia Bibi, 40, wife of Balqiaz from Bannu, recounted the harrowing events to the police. She mentioned that she and her brothers had returned to Bannu after visiting their parents in Peshawar for five days.

Shazia and her brothers were on the second floor of their house when her husband, Balqiaz, along with his relatives Ejaz, Umar Hayat, and Madaad, arrived and opened fire. Tragically, Shazia’s brothers lost their lives on the spot, while she sustained injuries.

Eye-Witness Account

Another witness, Fazeelat Bibi, 31, shared her perspective with the authorities. She stated that she was in her bedroom on the second floor when the sound of gunshots echoed through the house. Upon investigation, she discovered the lifeless bodies of Ejaz, Usman, Imran, and Suleman.

The police have confirmed that the motive behind this heinous act was a property dispute, shedding light on the dark underbelly of familial conflicts that can escalate to such tragic outcomes.

Following the incident, the bodies of the deceased and the injured were swiftly transported to the District Headquarters Hospital. Tragically, a teenager named Amirullah, 18, also suffered injuries during the attack.

The community is reeling from these consecutive tragedies, with Naseebullah, a relative of the deceased cleric, asserting that their family harboured no ill will towards anyone.
