Renita Bozeman, a beloved member of the Elba, Alabama community, passed away at the age of 66. She was known for her warm smile, generous spirit, and love for her family and friends. Renita was born on January 12, 1958, in Elba, Alabama, to the late James and Sarah Bozeman. She grew up in Elba and attended Elba High School, where she was a standout student and athlete.
After graduating from high school, Renita went on to pursue a career in education. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Alabama and began teaching at Elba Elementary School. Renita was a dedicated teacher who touched the lives of countless students throughout her career. She was known for her patience, kindness, and ability to connect with each and every child in her classroom.
Outside of her career, Renita was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had a passion for cooking and hosting gatherings for her loved ones. Renita’s home was always filled with laughter, love, and delicious meals. She had a talent for making everyone feel welcome and cherished.
In her free time, Renita enjoyed gardening, reading, and volunteering in her community. She was an active member of the local church and participated in various charitable organizations. Renita had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Renita is survived by her two children, Michael (Jennifer) and Emily (David), her four grandchildren, her siblings, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Renita’s life will be held at The Rabbit Hole, 216 Factory Avenue, Elba, Alabama, 36323, at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024. Friends and family are invited to come together to share memories, stories, and support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Elba Elementary School in Renita’s memory. Her passion for education and dedication to her students will live on through this meaningful contribution.
Renita Bozeman will be remembered for her kindness, her compassion, and her unwavering love for her family and community. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to inspire all those who knew her. May she rest in peace.
