In a devastating turn of events, the San Luis Obispo Police Department has confirmed the identities of the two individuals who lost their lives in a multi-vehicle crash that occurred last week. Jose Peralta, a 49-year-old resident of San Luis Obispo, and Donald Avery, a 52-year-old from Paso Robles, tragically passed away following the collision on May 15.

The Fatal Crash
The fatal incident took place just before 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Beach and Pismo streets in SLO. Authorities responded to the scene to find a scene of chaos, with debris scattered across Beach Street, stretching from Pismo to Buchon streets.
According to the police report, three men were travelling in a vehicle southbound on Beach Street at a high speed, failing to stop at the stop sign at the intersection. Their vehicle collided with another, causing it to overturn multiple times. The impact was so severe that both the driver and one of the passengers were ejected from the vehicle and tragically pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The Aftermath
While the driver and one passenger met a tragic end, the third occupant, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained only minor injuries. Additionally, a woman in the second vehicle involved in the crash was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
