Tragic Crash Claims Three Lives in Goldfield
Last week, a devastating crash along US 95, just 2 miles south of Goldfield, claimed the lives of three motorcyclists. The victims have been identified as Benny Hall, 52, of Tonopah; Jeffery Hicks, 72, of Goldfield; and Frank Winkler, 54, of Linton, Ind. The incident has left the community in mourning as emergency crews from Beatty, Tonopah, and Pahrump responded to the scene.

Emergency Response
Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Services Chief Scott Lewis reported that a passenger vehicle veered out of its lane and collided with the group of motorcyclists. The crash occurred near mile marker 16 in the area of the Goldfield summit. Pahrump crews sprang into action, transporting one patient to UMC Trauma in Las Vegas. Two Mercy airships were also dispatched, tragically resulting in three fatalities.
Nevada State Police Investigation
According to Nevada State Police, the tragic incident unfolded as a Chevrolet Malibu sedan was travelling northbound on US 95. Meanwhile, a group of four motorcycles, a Honda SUV, and a Harley-Davidson three-wheeler were heading southbound. The driver of the Malibu crossed the double yellow centerline, striking the motorcyclists in a horrific collision. The sedan first hit the three-wheeler and multiple motorcycles before colliding with the SUV.
Multi-Disciplinary Investigation
The crash is currently under investigation by the state Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (MIRT). This tragic incident comes in the wake of another fatal head-on collision on US-95 near mile marker 41, underscoring the importance of road safety and vigilance.
