In a recent incident in Charleston, South Carolina, a new video has been released shedding light on a shooting involving a Charleston officer and a man suspected of armed robberies in the West Ashley area. The Charleston Police Department received information from a concerned citizen that the suspect was spotted inside a Walgreens on Old Towne Road on January 21.

Police Response

While the officer was not hit by the suspect’s gunfire, he sustained a hand injury while dodging the bullets.

Arrest and Charges

Hampton was later apprehended near a business on Ashley River Road with a gunshot wound to his arm. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and subsequently charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Despite being cleared of the armed robberies in West Ashley, Hampton, a convicted felon, faced serious charges.
