The two victims of the accident have been identified as Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, both IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh. Anish hailed from Birsinghpur Pali in Umaria district, while Ashwini was a resident of Jabalpur. The police have alleged that the juvenile driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

Initially, the minor accused was granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board on the same day as the accident. However, following a review of the decision, the bail was revoked on May 22, and the minor was remanded to a rehabilitation/observation home until June 5.

In a further development, the father of the juvenile, Vishal Agarwal, who is a real estate developer, was arrested on May 21 amidst the public outcry. Additionally, two employees of the Black Club pub, Nitesh Shevani and Jayesh Gavkar, where the minor allegedly consumed alcohol, were also taken into custody and placed under police custody until May 24.

The police have filed charges against the teenager’s father under sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act, as well as against the owner and employees of the bars for serving alcohol to an underage person. The prosecution has requested the father’s custody to investigate why he allowed his son to drive a car without a number plate and why he went into hiding after the accident.
