A devastating crash on Sunday evening in Bartow County, Georgia, has left a family of five reeling from the loss of three members. The tragic incident also claimed the life of a college student, sending shockwaves through the community.

Details of the Crash

The Georgia State Patrol reported that the crash occurred on Interstate 75 near mile marker 286, approximately an hour northwest of Atlanta. The Mason family – Dakarai and Erin, along with their three children, Brandon, Titus, and Noah – were on their way home from a church function when the accident occurred.

According to a GoFundMe page set up for the family, both parents and their 14-year-old son, Brandon Crawford, lost their lives in the crash. The two younger children, Titus and Noah, sustained injuries, with Titus remaining in critical condition in the ICU.

Additional Fatality

Tragically, the crash also claimed the life of 21-year-old Aimee Odom, a student at Kennesaw State University. Odom was travelling in another vehicle at the time of the collision.

Chain Reaction Crash

Georgia State Patrol investigations revealed that the Mason family’s Kia van was travelling northbound on I-75 when it veered off the road, crossed the grass median, and entered the southbound lanes. The van collided with an oncoming Chevy Tahoe and a Toyota 4Runner, setting off a chain reaction involving two more vehicles.

Community in Mourning

The news of the horrific crash has left the small community in Bartow County stunned. Local residents expressed their shock and sadness over the tragic loss of life.

Erin Mason, the mother killed in the crash, was an employee of the Holly Springs Police Department. The department mourned her loss in a social media post, asking for privacy for the grieving family.

Bartow County Schools also shared a social media post urging the community to pray for Brandon and his family. Brandon, a freshman at Cass High Magnet School, was described as a standout student known for his infectious personality and larger-than-life smile.
