According to authorities from the Alpharetta Police Department, the main cause of the tragic accident was speeding. The vehicle carrying the five teenagers overturned, resulting in the untimely deaths of Aryan Joshi, Sriya Avasarala, and Anvi Sharma. All three victims were just 18 years old and were students at Alpharetta High School and the University of Georgia.

Two other students, Rithwak Somepalli and Mohammed Liyakath, were injured in the crash. Somepalli, a student at Georgia State University, was driving the Honda Accord involved in the accident. Liyakath, a senior at Alpharetta High School, also sustained injuries in the tragic incident.

Authorities reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn and end up in a tree line. Joshi and Avasarala were pronounced dead at the scene, while Sharma succumbed to her injuries at North Fulton Hospital.

The young students were active members of their respective communities. Avasarala was part of the UGA Shikaari dance team, Sharma was a singer in the music group UGA Kalakaar, and Joshi was a senior at Alpharetta High School and a member of the school’s cricket team.
