There has been a potential development in the tragic murder case of 19-year-old Sade Robinson after a human arm washed ashore Saturday night in Waukegan, Illinois. The Lake County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the arm found at Waukegan Municipal Beach was a “mostly intact” right arm, believed to be from a female. Robinson’s family received the heartbreaking news on Mother’s Day when authorities contacted them about the discovery.
Investigation and Discovery
When the disturbing discovery was made, a Waukegan deputy police chief revealed that they did not have any local cases that the arm could be linked to. Given previous incidents of bodies washing ashore from Milwaukee and Chicago, the police expanded their search to cases from other areas along the lakeshore. It was during this process that Robinson’s case came to their attention; however, the arm has not yet been identified as hers. A forensic anthropologist will conduct further analysis to determine the victim’s gender and age range, while DNA samples will be submitted to aid in identification.

If the arm is positively identified, it will be transported to the location where the victim’s investigation is ongoing. In the absence of a match, Waukegan police will need to strategize their next steps in the investigation. The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office is collaborating with Lake County law enforcement and is eagerly awaiting the DNA results from the arm. Milwaukee County prosecutors have stated that Robinson went missing after her date with 33-year-old Maxwell Anderson on April 1. Anderson has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson of property. Robinson’s leg was found at Cudahy’s Warnimont Park on April 2, with investigators subsequently discovering other body parts belonging to her across Milwaukee County.
