death – Obituary- Cause of Death News : Sad news has emerged about the passing of Barry Kemp, a respected lecturer and PhD supervisor who played a significant role in my archaeological journey. I will never forget the experience of my first excavation at Amarna in Egypt, under his guidance and mentorship. Despite his best efforts, he could never convince me to climb up that daunting photographic tower, but his expertise and passion for the field left a lasting impact on me.
Barry Kemp’s work and writings have always been a source of inspiration for me, and I find myself revisiting them time and time again. The knowledge and insights he shared with me during those excavation seasons at Amarna continue to shape my understanding of ancient history and archaeology.
