Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of Topeka Man
A tragic incident unfolded earlier this month in Topeka, as a motorcycle crash ultimately claimed the life of a 38-year-old man. The Topeka police Department (TPD) confirmed the heartbreaking news, revealing that Christopher L. Evans passed away on Saturday, May 11, due to injuries sustained in the crash.

Details of the Crash
The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 7, at the intersection of 1st Street and SW Topeka Boulevard. Police were alerted to a collision between a motorcycle and a passenger car around 5:30 p.m. Evans, the rider of the motorcycle, was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Investigation and Arrest
TPD spokeswoman Rosie Nichols disclosed that a 31-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car involved in the crash, fled the scene on foot. She was later apprehended by authorities at a nearby intersection and taken into custody on a felony warrant. The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
