Tragic Accident Claims Life of KSEB Lineman in Kollam
In a devastating turn of events, a 47-year-old lineman from the Puthoor KSEB section lost his life while carrying out repairs on damaged electrical lines near Alusherry Devi Temple in Pavithreswaram. The deceased, identified as Pradeep Kumar, was a resident of Sasthamcotta village and had been serving in the KSEB for the past fifteen years.

Details of the Incident
According to a KSEB official, Pradeep, along with his colleague Shafiq, arrived at Pavithreswaram around 10 a.m. to address a complaint regarding a damaged electrical wire filed by the officials of Alusherry Devi Temple. As the temple festival was in full swing, the urgency of the situation prompted Pradeep and his colleague to respond promptly.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., tragedy struck as Pradeep was replacing the faulty wire and suffered a fatal electric shock. Despite the efforts of nearby residents who administered CPR before rushing him to MGM Hospital in Puthoor, Pradeep was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Response and Investigations
Anoop K, the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the Puthoor KSEB section, has assured that a comprehensive report will be submitted to higher authorities regarding the unfortunate incident. Pradeep’s body has been transferred to the government medical college in Paripally for a postmortem examination.
The news of Pradeep’s untimely demise has sent shockwaves through the community, as he leaves behind a grieving wife and two children. Funeral arrangements are being made to honor his memory in his native village.
