Teen Charged with Murder in Indianapolis Shooting
A 16-year-old teenager has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting incident in Indianapolis. The suspect, Dawensky Zamor, has been officially charged as an adult by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. Along with one count of murder, Zamor also faces charges of dangerous possession of a firearm.

Eye-Witness Account of the Shooting
According to court documents, the tragic incident took place on Harcourt Road, where a passerby witnessed the deadly shooting. The witness reported seeing a male wearing a red hoodie with the hood up pushing the victim, identified as 34-year-old Lance Little, off the sidewalk and into the street. Despite backing up, the victim was shot by the suspect, causing him to collapse in the street.

Following the shooting, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) called in SWAT officers to set up a perimeter and search for the shooter. Several witnesses provided descriptions of the suspect, leading officers to 1856 Welchwood Circle, where they spotted a teenager exiting an apartment. While not wearing a red sweatshirt, the teenager had blood on his leg and sandals, leading to his arrest. The teenager was later identified as Dawensky Zamor.
Discovery of the Weapon
During a search of Zamor’s room, police uncovered a handgun wrapped in a red sweatshirt hidden inside the headboard of his bed. Despite being taken into custody, Zamor refused to speak to officers. His mother informed police that the teenager sometimes enters a “catatonic state” and does not communicate with others, revealing a potential history of mental health issues.

If convicted of murder, Zamor could face up to 65 years in prison for his involvement in the fatal shooting. The case highlights the tragic consequences of gun violence and the importance of addressing mental health concerns in young individuals.
