Tragic Accident Claims Life of 30-Year-Old Woman in Killeen

A fatal car crash in Killeen, Texas, has left the community in mourning after claiming the life of a young woman. The incident occurred on May 10th at around 5:50 a.m. when police were called to the 12300 block of State Highway 195 following reports of a wreck.

Details of the Accident

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a semi-truck trailer and a black sedan in the intersection. According to a preliminary investigation, the semi-truck trailer was stopped at a yield sign facing westbound, attempting to turn left onto State Highway 195. Unfortunately, the trailer’s positioning blocked the northbound turn-lane and inside lanes, leading to a collision with a black Nissan sedan traveling northbound in the inside lane.

Victim Identified as Karelys Almeda Sola

The driver of the sedan, identified as 30-year-old Karelys Almeda Sola, sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash. She was rushed to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center for treatment but tragically succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at 6:49 a.m. The police have notified Sola’s next of kin about the devastating loss.

Investigation Ongoing
