In a dramatic turn of events, 27-year-old Kati Louise Villoch from Wytheville, Virginia, was arrested by the Virginia State police and the Wytheville Police Department on multiple charges, including attempted capital murder. The incident unfolded on Thursday, May 8, when Villoch allegedly attempted to break into the gun display at a local Walmart.

Police Pursuit and Arrest
Following reports of the attempted break-in, officers located Villoch’s vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on East Main Street. Refusing to exit the vehicle, Villoch allegedly backed into a trooper’s vehicle, striking an officer before fleeing the scene. A high-speed police pursuit ensued, with Villoch eventually losing law enforcement on North 4th Street.
Dramatic Stand-Off and Surrender
Despite losing the police, Villoch was spotted by a Wytheville Detective in a residential neighborhood near the Wythe County Community Hospital. Ignoring commands to stop, Villoch led law enforcement on a dangerous chase through the neighborhood, into the hospital grounds, and back onto the road. The pursuit came to a dramatic end when Villoch lost control of her vehicle, crashing into an embankment on Petunia Road.
Additional Charges and Arrest
After a brief stand-off, Villoch was apprehended by the Virginia State Police Tactical Team using a light and sound distraction device. Following her arrest, Villoch allegedly attempted to escape from custody but was quickly apprehended by Wytheville Police. Villoch now faces a slew of charges, including eluding police, reckless driving, and attempted capital murder.
Legal Proceedings and Investigation
Currently held at the New River Valley Regional Jail without bail, Villoch awaits further legal proceedings.
